Johor Govt Committed To Continuing Tabung Kasih Johor-Palestin Fund

BATU PAHAT, The Johor government is committed to continuing its support for the Palestinian people through the Tabung Kasih Johor – Palestin fund, which was established last year.

State Committee on Islamic Affairs chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid, said that the fundraising would continue indefinitely and be conducted periodically to assist the Palestinians.

He added that the Tabung Kasih Johor-Palestin 2.0, launched in July, has successfully reached its target of raising RM2.5 million.

“Of this amount, RM427,500 has been allocated for 500 cooked meal packages that will benefit 15,000 people daily at the Deir Al Balah Refugee Camp in Palestine.

“The remainder will be used for 4,000 food packages and 250 tents with a Johor village concept, among other needs,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after the opening of the Sri Medan Area Farmers’ Organisation (PPK) Slaughter and Processing Centre and the presentation of food security incentives for the state of Johor, here today.

Also present were Johor Me
nteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who officiated the event, and State Committee on Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, and Rural Development chairman, Datuk Zahari Sarip.

Mohd Fared explained that food baskets and packages packed in Egypt would also be sent, with delivery expected to take place in November.

‘The RM2.5 million includes management expenses, shipping, logistics, and all the expenditure details I listed earlier,’ he said.
