Cambodia, Algeria Discuss Strengthening of Friendly Relations


Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, and H.E. Moundir Bouden, Vice President of the People’s National Assembly of Algeria, have discussed the strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The discussion took place in Vientiane, Lao PDR on Oct. 21, on the sidelines of the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45).

On the occasion, H.E. Moundir Bouden asked Samdech Khuon Sudary to help foster the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, both in the legislative and executive bodies, as well as promote ties between the two peoples.

He said that Cambodia and Algeria have established their diplomatic relations for 30 years. To strengthen the relations between the two NAs, H.E. Moundir Bouden invited the Cambodian NA president to hold online talks with her Algerian counterpart in the near future.

For her part, Samdech Khuon Sudary stressed that strengthening cooperatio
n between the two countries in the fields of trade, economy and tourism, as well as between the two parliaments, are not only important to bring benefits to the two peoples and countries, but will also contribute to building and protecting peace, stability and sustainable development for the peoples of the world.

Samdech Khuon Sudary also invited H.E. Moundir Bouden and the Algerian parliament to participate in the 11th plenary session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), which will be hosted by Cambodia in November this year.
