PM Says SEA Games Tickets are Free for Cambodians

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen stated clearly this afternoon that the tickets of SEA Games are free for all Cambodian people.

“We have spent hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars, including grants from our Chinese friend, and many years to organise this event, therefore I will not definitely allow any ticket sales for the opening and closing ceremonies as well as during the competitions,” he said in a special voice message.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen warned that any groups or any officials who act differently from the above recommendation will be responsible to the Prime Minister and the law.

“We spend millions of U.S. dollars; therefore, how can we sell tickets to our own people? How much can we get (from selling those tickets)?” he asked.

Cambodia is going to host the 32nd SEA Games from May 5 to 17, 2023 and the 12th ASEAN Para Games from June 3 to 9, 2023.

In total, 36 sports and a demonstration sport (teqball) have been listed for the 32nd SEA Games and 13 for the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
