YAYASAN AMAL TYT PENANG DONATES 252 COWS FOR AIDILADHA SACRIFICE

GEORGE TOWN, The Yayasan Amal TYT Penang is donating 252 cows to 212 mosques and 25 surau across the state for the Perdana Sacrifice Programme in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha.

Its chief executive officer Datuk Seri Rozali Mohamud said this year’s programme, managed by Yayasan Amal TYT Penang, has shown a 2.52-fold increase compared to 2023, which saw only 100 cows donated.

“At Yayasan Amal TYT Penang, we oversee the sacrificial rites, from securing donors and participants to purchasing and delivering sacrificial cows to the mosques and surau.

“This year’s programme has received overwhelming response, ensuring that every mosque with a congregation gets at least one cow for sacrifice. This increase in participation reflects the donors’ confidence in the management of the sacrificial rites by Yayasan Amal TYT Penang,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the delivery of the sacrificial cows to the selected mosques and surau will be carried out tomorrow, with the sacrifice conducted by the con
gregation leaders and their teams on the first day of Hari Raya Aidiladha. A few participating mosques will perform the sacrifice during the Tasyrik days.

Rozali said that the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, together with his wife Toh Puan Khadijah Mohd Nor, will witness the sacrificial rites at the Penang State Mosque after the Aidiladha prayers. They will then distribute the sacrificial meat to the underprivileged as a symbolic gesture across the state.

He emphasised that providing raw sacrificial meat to the underprivileged allows them to cook according to their preferences and share it with their loved ones.

“We expect 13,500 B40 recipients to receive at least two kg of meat to cook according to their taste preferences, and we hope that in the coming years, more participants will come forward to collaborate with the Yayasan Amal TYT Pulau Pinang,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to Tun Ahmad Fuzi and his wife, as well as donors and mosque committee members involved in the 2024
Perdana Sacrifice Programme.
