KAFA EDUCATION SYSTEM MUST BE DYNAMIC, READY FOR TRANSFORMATION – FADILLAH

PUTRAJAYA, The education system for Al-Quran and Fardhu Ain Classes (KAFA) must be dynamic and progressive, ready to undergo changes and innovation in line with the rapid changes said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the role of KAFA education remains relevant to uphold the aspirations of the National education agenda towards the production of human capital with progressive and a high level of discipline and integrity.

‘We must be aware that our education landscape has clearly changed from the traditional function. Students not only come to school to study but to be groomed as the heirs of the country with a high level or moral values and integrity.

‘This is in line with the National Key Results Areas (NKRA) which is to expand the initiative towards quality education and achievements and in this context, the NKRA is an innovative and strategic policy that can fulfill the desire and strengthen the quality of the country’s education field,’ he said.

aid this when speaking at the opening of the Kelas Al-Qur’an and Fardhu Ain Excellence Award presentation and Putrajaya level Islamic Education Institute Teachers Day Celebration for 2024 here today which was also attended by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan.

According to Fadillah, the Ministry of Education (KPM) had also introduced the School Based Assessment in efforts to produce KAFA students who are excellent and competent to achieve the high standards set to fulfill the aspirations and Malaysia MADANI agenda of the country.

‘Therefore, there is a need to continuously focus on good governance and management practices in the administration of KAFA. These qualities will help the Education Ministry to churn out quality and qualified human capital,’ he said.

Touching on the role of teachers, Fadillah said teachers too need to undergo a paradigm shift and implement approaches that can help students be creative and innovative.

During the presentation,
666 students who excelled in the 2023 UPKK examinations and obtained 8As from the Putrajaya zone were rewarded.
