Allianz PNB Life supports Paris-bound PH athletes

MANILA: Allianz PNB Life (AZPNBL) will provide insurance coverage to the athletes who will compete in the Paris Olympics and Paralympics.

Allianz PNB Life president and chief executive officer Joseph Gross and Philippine Sports Commission chairman Richard Bachmann signed the agreement during the send-off ceremony at the Makati Diamond Residences on Thursday.

AZPNBL, recognizing the extraordinary talents of athletes, wants to inspire greatness through its MoveNow program which brings the spirit of sports closer to the public.

Aside from insurance, AZPNBL is spearheading initiatives to rally public support for the athletes with the battlecry “Lakas Pinoy, let’s leap to greatness” which denotes the enduring spirit of Filipino athletes and Filipino pride.

“We hope Filipinos will unite in rallying behind our athletes. As a nation, let’s show our athletes how much we believe in them. Lakas ng Pinoy,” Gross said.

Among the athletes who attended the event were Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Nesthy Petecio of boxing; SEA Games champions Vanessa Sarno and Elreen Ann Ando of weightlifting; and ASEAN Para Games gold medalists Ernie Gawilan and Angel Otom of swimming and Cendy Asusano of athletics.
