‘Amihan’ continues to bring rain showers across Luzon

MANILA: The northeast monsoon or “amihan” affecting Northern Luzon will continue to bring rain showers across the island on Tuesday, the weather bureau said.

Moderate to heavy rains may be experienced over Cagayan Valley and flash floods or landslides are possible, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 4 a.m. bulletin.

“Amihan” will also cause light rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon, and isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and the rest of Calabarzon.

The rest of the country will continue to experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said strong winds and rough seas will continue to prevail across Northern Luzon.

Sea travel is risky for small sea vessels in the northern, eastern, and western seaboards of Northern Luzon.

Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to remain in port or seek safe harbor.

Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to
strong and moderate to rough seas, PAGASA said.
