MANILA: Arellano University rallied past De La Salle-Zobel, 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, at the Paco Arena in Manila on Tuesday to reach the quarterfinal round of the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball Invitational League (GVIL).

Samantha Maranan scored 19 points while Catherine Chu added 14 points for the Lady Braves, who now hold a 3-1 (win-loss) record in Pool B.

Arellano will face unbeaten Adamson University (Pool D) in the next round.

Meanwhile, Lyceum of the Philippines High School pulled off a 25-16, 25-13 victory over Chiang Kai Shek High School in Pool A.

Lyceum tied Bethel Academy at 3-1 but the latter gained the No. 1 spot with more match points, 10-8.

Lyceum can get the last quarterfinal slot in Pool A if De La Salle-Lipa loses to California Academy in their match being played as of press time.

In Pool C, Montessori School stunned University of Santo Tomas, 21-25, 25-19, 25-21, to also secure a quarterfinal slot.

Shahanna Lleses delivered 14 points while Shekaina Lleses chipped in 11 for the Lady Vikings, w
ho will meet the Bethel girls at the Adamson University gym on Wednesday.
