MANILA: The Bureau of Customs-Port of Cagayan de Oro (BOC-CDO) has recently intercepted two smuggled luxury vehicles worth PHP30 million at the Mindanao Container Terminal in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

In a news release on Tuesday, BOC-CDO Acting District Collector Alexandra Lumontad reported that the shipment consigned to M. Aguila Car Trading was seized on Dec. 15.

The vehicles arrived from South Korea on Dec. 12 was declared to contain 1,045 pieces of truck replacement parts but was found to contain two Porsche cars.

Upon receiving derogatory information, the BOC Intelligence Group requested the Port to issue a Pre-Lodgment Control Order (PLCO) against the subject shipment.

This was followed by a joint spot-check examination request from Customs Intelligennce and Investigation Serice-CDO and Surigao Field Station chief Oliver Valiente and X-ray Inspection Project-CDO chief Jenkinn Gutierrez.

A warrant of seizure and detention will be issued against the shipment for violation of Section 1400 in relati
on to Section 1113 of RA 10863, also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
