Cambodia and Spain Explore New Avenues for Enhanced Trade and Investment Cooperation.


Phnom Penh: Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak recently met with H.E. Felipe DE MORENA CASADO, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to the Kingdom of Cambodia, who resides in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting took place in Phnom Penh on November 19.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both officials expressed deep satisfaction with the longstanding relations and fruitful cooperation between Cambodia and Spain. They deliberated on strategies to further elevate bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, and other sectors of mutual interest.

H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak extended heartfelt gratitude to the Spanish government for its significant support to Cambodia, particularly in relation to the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia. He also conveyed Cambodia’s sincere condolences to Spain following the recent catastrophic flooding in the Valencia region.

On his part, H.E. Felipe DE
MORENA CASADO congratulated Cambodia for its role in hosting the upcoming Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World. He praised Cambodia’s contributions to UN peacekeeping missions and reaffirmed Spain’s strong commitment to bolstering two-way trade and investment between the two nations.

Additionally, the discussions encompassed an exchange of views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, further solidifying the cooperative relationship between the two countries.
