Cambodia to Build Over 1,300 km of Road Along the Border


Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has reaffirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia would build more than 1,300-kilometre-long road along the border.

Some 1,300 kilometres out of 2,660-kilometre-long road have been so far constructed along the border between Cambodia and her neighbours, the Premier pointed out at the graduation ceremony of lawyer students of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia held in Phnom Penh this morning.

Moreover, he continued, a budget of more than US$200 million have been approved to build the remaining 1,360 kilometres for a planned period of 10 years.

‘The Royal Government has been committed to further building the other 50 percent in order to ensure the development along the border,’ he underlined.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also expressed his profound thanks to all donors who have contributed their financial donations to support the Border Infrastructure Development Foundation focusing on border ring road construction.

se to more than 400,000 people, said the Premier Minister, calling on his compatriots to continue to support the fundraising campaign to ensure the development along the border.

The campaign was announced by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet in a statement on Aug. 22, 2024 on the ‘One-Year Achievements of the Royal Government of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly, aiming to raise additional funds and to provide an opportunity for the citizens, both inside and outside the country, to contribute directly with the Royal Government in the cause of national defence and development through infrastructure construction along the border.
