The Cambodian national team has advanced to the final after beating the Thai team 3:2 in semi-finals held at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh this evening.
Cambodian team lost to their Thai counterparts in the first two sets with 18:25 and 22:25, before bouncing back in the last three sets with 25:22, 25:16 and 15:10.
Cambodia will meet Indonesia in the final to be held on May 8 at 7:30 pm.
Earlier on the same day, Singapore men’s volleyball team won Myanmar team 3:0, while Malaysia lost to the Philippines 2:3 and Indonesia defeated Vietnam out 3:0
Indoor Volleyball events at the 32nd SEA GAMES are taking place in Phnom Penh on May 3-4 and May 6-14, 2023, while Beach Volleyball events from May 11 to 16 in Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province.
In the same evening, at the same stadium, for Men’s U-22 football, Cambodia lost its chance to go to the semi-finals after being defeated 0-2 by Myanmar which scored the two goals at the 13th and 38th minutes.
Regional athletes are set to compete in 37 sports with 581 events – 304 for men, 229 for women and 48 mixed – at the SEA Games 2023 held in Cambodia from May 5 to 17.
