Education Ministry, KOICA Unveil New ICT Textbooks for Grades 7-9

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) launched here late last week brand new ICT textbooks for grades 7-9, a significant milestone in Cambodia’s ICT capacity-building efforts.

The event was held during the Mid-term Review of the Project for ICT Capacity Building of Lower Secondary Education in Cambodia, under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of MoEYS and Ms. CHOI Moon Jung, Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office.

These textbooks empower students with essential digital skills, guiding them from the basics of computer usage to more advanced coding techniques, according to a KOICA’s news release.

Over the past three years, the source continued, MoEYS and KOICA have developed ICT curricula, trained teachers, and established 48 ICT labs across the provinces of Kampong Cham, Kandal, Prey Veng, and Takeo. This initiative is crucial for nurturing the digital leaders who will drive digital economy and society in Cambodia.


The journey continues, as we focus on nurturing ICT pre-teachers, empowering in-service teachers, and equipping students with vital digital skills over the next 2.5 years,’ stated the news release.
