Samra Seaplane, a subsidiary firm of the Royal Group, has unveiled its business plan of providing seaplane service in Cambodia, aimed at facilitating tourists’ travel to luxurious tourism destinations in the Kingdom, especially the coastal areas.

The first ever seaplane service project was discussed in a meeting between H.E. Chuk Chumnor, Director-General of Tourism Development and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Tourism and Mr. Dennis Kellier, CEO of Samra Seaplane, at the ministry on Aug. 1.

Samra Seaplane has been working with the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) to conduct a formal flight registration, Mr. Dennis Keller said in the meeting.

The firm planned to import two seaplanes by the end of 2023, and the flight tests will be conducted for targeted destinations: Siem Reap-Preah Sihanouk and Phnom Penh-Preah Sihanouk with landing at major destinations such as Koh Song Saa, Koh Krabei and Royal Sands resort, he added.

For his part, H.E. Chuk Chumnor welcomed the firm’s investment plan, stressing that it will significantly contribute to Cambodia’s tourism development.

The director-general asked the firm to consider other key destinations including Mondulkiri province and the upper Mekong areas.
