KUALA LUMPUR, The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher on Monday.
At the end of trading, the August 2024 contract rose to US$2,508.20 per troy ounce from US$2,484.30 at Friday’s close. The September 2024, October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, and February 2025 notes all settled higher at US$2,511.90 per troy ounce against US$2,488.0 previously.
The volume slipped to 16 lots from 90 lots yesterday, while open interest weakened to 55 contracts from 135 contracts previously.
The price of physical gold stood at US$2,485.80 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on Aug 16.
