JAKARTA– The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 5,832, within one day, to 1,856,038, with the death toll adding by 163 to 51,612, the Health Ministry said yesterday.

According to the ministry, 4,187 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 1,705,971.

The virus has now spread to all the country’s 34 provinces.

Specifically, within the past 24 hours, Jakarta recorded 1,019 new cases, Central Java 890, West Java 869, Riau 528 and West Sumatra 388.

No new cases were detected in Papua province.
