GUA MUSANG, The drafting of Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto for the Nenggiri state by-election is in its final stage and will be announced soon.
BN candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani, who is better known as Awie, said that among the things emphasised in the manifesto are matters related to human capital, local economy and housing for the young generation.
‘I already have the draft, but I have to wait for two or three more things to be included,’ he told Bernama when met at the Kelantan State Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) plantation in Sungai Terah on the fifth day of campaign for the by-election today.
The by-election, set for Aug 17, sees a straight fight between the Unity Government’s candidate and Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Mohd Rizwadi Ismail, who contested using PAS logo.
Apart from the manifesto, Azmawi said he would use his experience in the political arena to win the hearts of the voters in Nenggiri.
‘If I am elected, of course I will be the bridge for the people of Nenggiri to voi
ce out their problems to the federal government,’ he said.
The Nenggiri by-election was called after Kelantan State Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah declared the seat vacant on June 19 because its assemblyman, Mohd Azizi Abu Naim, had ceased to be a member of Bersatu on June 13.
