PM ANWAR ATTENDS SPECIAL SCREENING OF ‘SHERIFF NARKO INTEGRITI’

PUTRAJAYA, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim took some time off his busy schedule to attend a special screening of the movie ‘Sheriff Narko Integriti’ here tonight.

The special screening at the GSC Cinema, organised by the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) in collaboration with SKOP Productions and Astro Shaws, was also attended by the prime minister’s wife Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The special screening was in conjunction with the ERAT (Encouraging Responsibility Accountability Trustworthiness) Campaign by the EAIC, which is aimed at raising awareness of integrity and efforts to combat misconduct, like corruption and abuse of power in the public service, particularly among law enforcers.

EAIC chairman Tan Sri Dr Ismail Bakar said that based on the principle of ‘No One Is Above The Law’, which is the movie’s primary message, law enforcement and implementation must be carried out fairly a
nd without prejudice and compromise, regardless of rank or power.

In addition, he said every civil servant, starting from the leader, must be open and not cover up any wrongdoing in the organisation to increase the credibility and confidence of the people in public service.

“As such, the EAIC hopes more works of art and films like ‘Sheriff Narko Integriti’ will be produced to open the eyes of the people and educate them, especially enforcers, on the importance of integrity and accountability in maintaining the sovereignty and laws of the country,’ he said in a statement.
