PM Hun Sen: Democracy Should Go Along with Rule of Law

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has reminded the nexus of democracy and the rule of law.

While presiding over the inauguration ceremony of two new buildings and the graduation ceremony of some 2,000 students of the Royal Academy for Justice of Cambodia in Phnom Penh this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said both democracy and the rule of law should work and move forward together.

“The democracy without respect for the law is anarchy, and if you only think about the rule of law without open space, it is called dictatorship, so democracy and the rule of law must go hand in hand,” he stressed.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen affirmed that day by day, Cambodia is working to strengthen democracy and the rule of law.

The same goes with the world, the Cambodian Premier said, explaining that there must be respect for the world law, if not countries will use forces to fight each other.
