Sri Lanka Ramanna Monastic Fraternity Expresses Deepest Condolences over Venerable Tep Vong’s Demise

Sri Lanka Ramanna Monastic Fraternity has extended its deepest condolences over the loss of His Holiness Buddhist Supreme Patriarch General Tep Vong, Buddhist Supreme Patriarch of Dhamma Mahanikaya of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

‘He was an exemplary monastic leader not only to Cambodia but also to the whole Theravada world. He revived the Theravada Sangha in Cambodia and established a strong connection with other Buddhist countries. He is very close with Sri Lankan Buddhist Sangha. We lost a great visionary leader,’ wrote Sri Lanka Ramanna Monastic Fraternity in its recent letter of condolences.

‘All monks of Sri Lanka Ramanna Monastic Fraternity express our deepest condolences and wish this leader monk to have a smooth progress towards the final liberation. We will remember his example and leadership. We are ever grateful to his service to the Buddhist world,’ concluded the source.

ted to Cambodia have paid their last respects and expressed their condolences on the demise of venerable Tep Vong.

His Holiness Buddhist Supreme Patriarch General Tep Vong passed away in Phnom Penh on Feb. 26, 2024, at the age of 93 years old due to natural causes.

According to an official announcement, the body of Venerable Tep Vong is kept at Ounalom pagoda located in Sangkat Chey Chumneas, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh for religious rituals until the cremation ceremony, which will be announced later.
