PEKAN, The natural wonderland of Tasik Chini, once a lesser-known gem, is now gearing up to captivate even more visitors with its new educational tourism offerings.

State Unity, Tourism and Culture Committee chairman Leong Yu Man, highlighted the array of exciting tourism packages available through the Tasik Chini Research Centre (PPTC), tailored for diverse visitors, including students from schools and universities eager to explore and learn.

“Visitors can enjoy a range of educational activities and facilities that highlight the area’s natural beauty and diverse wildlife and we are encouraging schools and universities to organise programmes here.’

Leong said this to reporters after an engagement programme on the development plan for Tasik Chini biosphere r

Among the activities available, participants will have the opportunity to experience the lifestyle and culture of the indigenous people, observe local flora and fauna around the tourist centre and gain knowledge about water management and safety.

Elaborating, Leong said efforts are being made to boost the tourism destination, which would also benefit local residents by generating income.
